Play Place Innov8 CIC

Introduction
In April 2007 we started a Community Interest Company. Play Place - Innov8 CIC provides not for profit services for children, young people and parents. The service we provide is for the benefit the communities that we serve.

The statement ‘Not for Profit’ means that reasonable and transparent salaries and/or costs are paid to staff and directors who deliver services. However, any surpluses and capital assets made will be used for the benefit of the community.

Our Constitution
We have a volunteer Board of Directors who monitors our work and constitution delivery. We always aim to complement other local service and are usually asked by our sponsors and funders to work in areas where there are no other services for children and young people.

Our key objectives include providing:

1) Targeted Services: These services focus on a particular geographical area/estate or respond to an identified need.
2) Innovative Learning Opportunities: We provide new pilot type opportunities that deliver either new concepts or services that would otherwise not be available in given areas or to a specific group. The type of opportunity that we provide are not prescriptive, and we will explore delivering any activities that our Board of Directors feel may reasonably be considered to be a new opportunity and of benefit to our wider community interest objectives.
3) ICT and Research Programmes: Play Place Innov8 CIC recognises the tremendous benefit in ICT in its broadest sense (computers, sound, music, photography, and film making).
