Covid – 19 Update (November 2021)

Pre-Schools and After School Clubs

Welcome everyone.

Currently all of Play Place Early Years and our after school groups are open to all.

We do do ask that those feeling unwell do not attend any session/group until they are better.

If you have any of the covid-19 three main symptoms you must stay away and follow current government guidance.

  • A persistent cough
  • Fever/ high temperature
  • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

Please note that this list is not extensive and there are many other symptoms you may present with.

If you/your child does show symptoms and you are due to attend one of our early years/after school club settings please stay at home and contact the setting by phone or email.

For current advice (November 2020) regarding concerns over cold flu symptoms and when your child can attend settings.

On Saturday 27 November, the Prime Minister announced new temporary measures following the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the UK.

  • Testing we encourage staff and students to test twice a week using LFD
  • We ask at this time that you prebook all show arounds/visits to the settings

Youth Provision and Community Hubs.

Following the recent updates we have adapted our youth delivery and are working following NYA guidance across the Croydon and Kent boroughs.

Our teams are currently working in your local area via detached work, on our community bus or brand new Konnect youth van. Please keep an eye on our social media platforms for up to date information and programmes.

Our community hubs are now open and there is availability for hire.

Online work

We will be continuing with our online programmes across our social media accounts and have had very positive feedback towards this. We thank you for continuing to support us and joining in with our activities. The online programme will work alongside our childcare and youth sessions.

As always, we will continue to follow Government guidance and update accordingly. All of the above is subject to change if deemed appropriate.

Mission Statement

In these challenging times we are having to make difficult decisions and choices.

We at Play Place are aiming to open some of our doors to our youngest children where we offer Early Years provision.

Everyone counts, our staff, children and families are all precious. We are working with families and our dedicated teams to make arrangements that we feel will work with the service we will deliver.

Children will be welcomed in at our services, we will provide a happy place to play and learn in these unsettled times. We recognise that for some families now is not the the time and we will continue to stay in touch.

We shall continue to work with requirements drawn down from government and will keep you posted with developments as they occur.

Our current covid-19 policy can be found in our policy and procedures.
